Save the Date: Special Education Family Resource Fair

Saturday, May 10th, 10:00am-1:00pm

The Special Education Family Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Seneca Valley High School, 19401 Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown. The free event will host more than 40 community organizations that offer supports, resources and services for families who have students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), as well as fun children’s activities, including moon bounces, a DJ and face painting. Stay tuned for more information.

Special Education Parents Asked to Complete Survey

Deadline to Complete Survey is Friday, May 30th

Do you have a child who receives special education services in MCPS? The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has mailed the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey to all parents/guardians of students receiving special education and related services in Montgomery County.

The purpose of this anonymous survey is to determine how well your child’s school is partnering with you. The information provided will help guide the state’s efforts in improving special education and related services in public schools.

The survey is available here. Parents are asked to complete it by Friday, May 30.

For those of you who don’t know Stacy, special education is her passion. She has  had the pleasure of spending the last 30 years working in the special education field in various capacities. Currently, she is an educational advocate and consultant.
